3 days away Boroughbridge

I have just come back from 3 days in North Yorkshire, Boroughbridge to be exact at my brothers pagan wedding down by the river. There were 30 people turned up, and they were more interested in the VW than anything else, to people who don't know much about them, they were amazed at how much space they have, and the ability to store just about everything, plus you can sleep 4 people, I am trying to get a few of them off their ageing Land Rover's one of which arrived at the campsite on the back of a AA lorry (again) and onto the VW T25 camper scene, we shall see.

Pickering Weekend

Just got back from 2 nights camping at Upper Carr campsite on the outskirts of Pickering, North Yorkshire. We went out saturday night into the town as it was a sixties weekend, and we saw "The Swinging Blue Jeans" playing live (the hippy hippy shake).
We also had a trip round the dolby forest, and my wife was giving directions, she took my and the van up some 1 in 3 hills with hairpins, I wasn't happy and neither was the van.

Camping

Just returned from a great weekend away in Freddy, up near Robin Hood's Bay on a fantastic campsite called Middlewood, and only a 10 minuet walk down to Robin Hood's Bay without having to walk down that really steep hill. We had a few beers before heading back to the campsite, which also has a butty van on site, so no cooking, which considering the state I was in is a good thing.

Today in this lovely sunshine I have finally sucumbed to me son's wishes to put the 53 stickers on my VW T25 as per herbie.
I have to say they are not that easy to fit and getting all air bubbles out take time and patience, my son did help a lttle, but he didn't want to take up the challenge of fitting the large number's, he stuck to the red, white and blue stripes.
I would saay it took around 3 hours to put everything on, and then finally fitted 4 new chrome hub caps, it does look quite good, but you will have to get used to poeple looking at you as you drive past.

hand brake VW T25

Has anyone had a problem regarding the hand brake on their T25 releasing on its own.
Mine did a few days ago (and I have quite a steep drive) luckily I was stood next to it at the time and the drivers door was open, and I managed to stop it within maybe 5m. It now resides in front of the house on the level.

To all the people who name their vans and campers may we introduce FRED the Just VW's T25 mascot!
Fred is a Volkswagon T25 campervan who won't mind us telling you he is 20 years old this October.

Just VW T25 has lovingly updated Fred, keeping him fit and well by major servicing including new brakes and pipes and clutch master cylinder.

His cosmectic customisation has included,

a full repaint
stainless wheel spats
newly painted wheels
new mirrors
smoked front and rear indicators
new bumper end caps
2 new airscoops
new flooring
refurbishing existing interior

Freds favourite addition is his snazzy new exhaust which includes a custom built stainless steel silencer with twin outlet.
